Password protecting a folder on your site (POA)

Here are the steps to take to password protect a directory on your website in InfoQuest’s POA system.

Login at the Customer Control Panel with your main account’s username and password.

Click on “Create User” on the Home tab.

Type in the “Display Name”.

Type in the username you want to create “Username@Yourdomain”.

Type in the password you want to use.

You’ll need to check the box ‘Authorized Web Access”.

From the list of domains make sure the domain is coming up that you want this user to have access to.

Check the box to the website to the left of the website you want have this for.

Click Finish.

Click on the “Hosted Domains” tab.

Select the domain name.

Click on Security Settings, click Edit and check the box next to “Anonymous access” and click OK.

Then go back to the page before and click on the “File Manager” link.

Find your folder, right click on it and click “Get Info”

Uncheck all the check boxes under the “Anonymous Users” section and click “Save”

Then when you browse to that folder, you’ll be prompted for the username and password.
