Here are the steps to setup Thunderbird for Hosted Exchange using an IMAP connection.
1. Launch Mozilla Thunderbird.
2. Under Accounts menu click Create a new account: Email. The Account Wizard starts.
3. At the welcome screen click Skip this and use my existing email.
4. Fill out the form that appears:
A. In the Your Name field, type in your name that will be shown to your e-mail recipients.
B. In the Email Address field, type in your full email address.
C. In the Password field, type in the password of your email.
5. Click Continue, then click on the “Manual Configure” button right away and the server information boxes will appear below.
6. Select the IMAP type. Type in exchange.infoquest.com in the Server host name field of the incoming server.
7. In the Port field of the incoming server, select 993.
8. In the SSL field of the incoming server, select SSL/TLS.
9. In the Authentication field of the incoming server, select Normal password.
10. In the Username field of the incoming server, type in your “full email address“.
11. Type in exchange.infoquest.com in the Server host name field of the outgoing server.
12. In the Port field of the outgoing server, select 25 or 587. (Depends on what your ISP supports!)
13. In the SSL field of the outgoing server, select STARTTLS.
14. In the Authentication field of the outgoing server, select Normal password.
15. In the Username field of the outgoing server, type in your “Full Email address“.
16. Click the “Done” button, and you’ve completed the process of setting up your account in Thunderbird.
(NOTE: Do NOT use the “Re-test” button, there is a bug that Mozilla is still working on.)
